Changing Tides
I have never been consistent with my blogging. I've always wanted to be, but for some reason it always slips my mind. This doesn't mean I don't love this blog, because I do, and very much. I love sitting down in the morning and sipping on coffee while I write a post, pondering the topic. Infact, it's not even blogging that i'm inconsistent with these days, but with YouTube as well, and now that I think about, all of my social media has been set aside at a distance.
I don't like this, and I want to get back to were I was years ago, when I was blogging up a storm.
Now when something like this occurs, I think to myself "why is this happening? why am I letting what I love go?" The answer is much more complicated than a quick statement or paragraph, because it brings me to tremendous heartbreak and pain that I have tried to avoid by not thinking about it (for the more I think about it, the more it hurts). There is no simple way to explain things, so i'll just come out and say that my grandma, who raised me and was a second mother to me is almost dead due to kidney cancer. It makes me really sad to even write about this so I won't talk too much on the subject except for the fact that I've known since June 10th, and in the span of nearly three months, she has turned into basically a vegetable and someone I don't recognize anymore. We had our last conversation and I didn't even realize it was our last which eats me alive. I have been down at her house (where I was supposed to move before she got sick) having to clean it up and sift through years of memories, and it's so weird. I see pictures, or things and it's like I'm a ghost watching the past. There are so many things that are racing through my head, like she'll never see my get married, or even meet my future fiancee, or see and great grandchildren. She won't see me go to my dream college or graduate (however I'm grateful that she saw me graduate from high school) or out those skills to use and see if I (hopefully) one day become a celebrity stylist or ceo of a pr agency. All of these things break my heart.
This is where I stop because I really can't bear to go on right now, and can only think about things in small doses. Of course there are other things that I have to deal with right now, but none as detrimental as this. My hearts been broken before, but not like this, it's different because I see her decline every day and it's a suffering, slow, monotonous death and I couldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
Yesterday I went to the ocean for a little while to watch the sunset, where the tides were unusually high like I've never seen because of a hurricane in Mexico, and since i've never seen them that high it had me thinking about how it's such a big change from what is always there, and what has always been. I've grown up close to the ocean for the better half of my life and they've never been as big. I couldn't help but to draw the comparison about what a big change it will be without my grandma here with me.

Pre New York Fashion Week 2014
So starting September 4th, the week that all fashion lovers wait all year for, is coming about us: fashion week. DUN DUN DUNNNN!
I myself, am ANXIOUSLY awaiting the runway looks to review and critique (which is one of my favorite type of posts to do).
In honor of fashion week, Polyvore has a contest going for fashion week, and the premise is that you're going to a Marc Jacobs show sitting in the front row; what do you wear?
The obvious answer for me is to wear Marc Jacobs or Marc by Marc Jacobs, because repping the clothes is pretty important, especially if you're being invited to attend, right? Also, in true fashion week fashion, head to toe black is the way to go. I may not have used head to toe black, but that is because I prefer to use pops of color to keep it interesting. I find it okay to use pops of color as long as the main stable piece, or majority of your outfit is black. The only piece of this outfit that isn't Marc Jacobs is the belt, but it was too perfect with the dress to pass up.

Maxi Dress Haven
So if you weren't already aware, I am absolutely, 100% smitten with dresses! I think the majority of my outfits include them or are based around them. Dresses are just so dainty and elegant! Here are two of my most recent sets that are based around dresses: 
This Nadia Tarr Paris Lyon Striped maxi is PERFECT for summer! One thing I absolutely adore about it is that the stripe change patterns, the bust is made of horizontal lines, while the rest are vertical/sideways and it gives a much more structured, polished look. Going out at night? This two-toned chain necklace matches the navy perfectly, and if you wear a cute updo, these Kendra Scott earrings will dress your ears up perfectly. If you didn't already know, I'm OBSESSED with stacking rings! These Cartier love rings are perfect for that, and another awesome statement ring that I think is absolutely magnificent is the AS29 Small Wing! It's such a statement, as I said before, and whenever I see it, I am definitely a little green with envy. The Stella McCartney Fallabella bag is a great addition to the outfit, throw all your necessities in it and hit the town! Pair it with this leather motorcycle jacket to warm up your nights.
Starting off with this maxi from ModCloth, & I must say, this dress is so dreamy and fairy tale like! Wear it and you will feel like a modern day princess! Damsel in distress anyone? Play the modern day Rapunzel and maybe you're prince will come rescue you! (Although, in the hit Disney movie Tangled it can totally be said that Rapunzel did the saving, so who knows? You're a heroine in your own right :D ) Adding a pretty flower crown (this one from my Miss Selfridge) will definitely make you feel more princess like, and give your wrist the royal treatment with this bracelet by Dorothy Perkins and your fingers with these rings by Lilith Star and the other by Sydney Evan. This leather satchel by The Leather Satchel Company is perfect for going on adventures, and these Sperry Topsider sandals are spiffy, and match the dress perfectly!

Life Hack// Summer Plans
One of the greatest things about summer is the amount of freedom it allows (well, for most of us anyway)! Fun outings are a lot easier to plan out, there are so many more fun outdoor activities that are available, and so many more events. In my last post, i mentioned I had some fun things planned this summer. I suppose I'll go by date, and then maybe I'll add some TBD dates :)
June 10th: ABC Family is having me host a Pretty Little Liars/Chasing Life premiere party for being a "super fan", which is super exciting! I love PLL and cannot WAIT to unravel more of the mystery. I would say more, but I don't want to spoil it for those catching up ;)
June 21: The Second Annual Polyvore Member Meetup! I always talk about my love for Polyvire and praise the totally amazing site that it is. If you love fashion and are interested in attending, I encourage you :) here is the official message/announcement if you're interested:

Like I said, I'm extremely excited for that event, and especially to meet people who are interested in fashion as well as me.
June 25: The Digitour is going to be at the San Diego fair and I'm considering going, although it's the day before Vidcon, so maybe not. That may be a tough one to swing, especially since I would need to prepare for the weekend. However, some of the fondest memories of my childhood were spent at the fair, and it's always a good time.
June 26-28: Yay! Vidcon! I CANNOT WAIT! Last year was incredible, and honestly before then, I cannot remember the last time I had as much fun. I met loads of my favorite youtubers, awesome friends, and was able to connect with people on levels I hadn't really experienced before. I can wholeheartedly say that it was a life changing experience.
Here is one of my vlogs from last year, and this week I may do a video and corresponding post of Vidcon essentials and info that's need-to-know. Sound good? Last year it was more than just a little intimidating, and I didn't know what to expect other than fun and chaos.
June 29: Vidcon's Disney Day. This's another TBD day, as if I do go to the SD fair AND Vidcon, there may be a possibility that I may not get to go. There are a few reasons why I might not as well, mainly because Disneyland is a mad house during the summer and for one ride alone, the wait is usually two hours. As a SoCal resident, I find the best time to go is during the spring or fall. Sure it would be fun, because Disneyland, DUH! but I'm not sure and a little skeptical about it, as I would prefer to go a different time when it is less crowded.
So June is a pretty busy month for me lol! Another thing that is possibly happening is me moving, but I can't get too much into details because I myself don't have it all figured out, but I truly want to try and make it happen this summer/early fall. It's just time; I'm a young adult and I hate having to depend on my parents for everything, and I can't find a job after two years of looking in this small town. I need to branch out and move back into a bigger city.
Wow, I feel as if I covered ALOT here! Of course there are other things happening this summer, but these are a few of the things that come to mind first. I also want to go to the beach and pool, catch up and discover new tv shows. Definitely going to finish The White Queen (my new obsession), The Originals, Two Broke Girls, New Girl, and maybe the Tudors. I also want to do some reading- maybe The White Princess by Phillipa Gregory, some more of John Greens' books, and maybe the Diverent series. If you have any suggestions as to what books, movies, or TV shows I should check out, tell me down below :)
Anyways, it was nice talking to you all, and it was nice to talk about something other than fashion. I think I'm going to try and incorporate more lifestyle/personal posts as well, so that I don't seem like some fashion obsessed robot (because let's face it, I am a fashion obsessed robot) for a change.
