Who's Gonna Get Up After We're Gone?

Who's Gonna Get Up After We're Gone?

Happy first day of Fall! Crazy, because it was incredibly hot here in SoCal, and it JUST started to cool down yesterday. It;s crazy how it was 99 degree weather, and then suddenly switched to 70, especially in California. We all need a break from paradise eventually, or we'll forget what it is. So this is an official goodbye! This outfit is the perfect way to welcome in the more crisp months!

Inspired by all the warm tones, I found this dress, and was incredibly inspired. This dark-toned yellow is a gorgeous fall color, and I added a belt to add shape around the waist! Another staple is a cute coat/jacket, and this chocolate brown one is perfect (NOTE: it also has a belt included, but the look was envisioned to be open, and if you were to button it up, you wouldn't see the other belt). The brown riding boots also add a nice little autumn touch! Last but not least, I decided on bright blue accessories, because the golden yellow complements the blue really well (infact, blue and yellow are one of my favorite color combos). I absolutely adore all the accessories- they really add that extra sparkle to whatever look you're going for!

You Gotta Step Up Your Game To Make It To The Top

You Gotta Step Up Your Game To Make It To The Top

One of the most exciting moments of the colder months is when I can finally start to break out my darker clothing items! I absolutely adore cranberry reds, hunter greens, and deeper lilacs, and especially love the warmer colors in the fall/winter time. When I saw this this sweater, I KNEW it was the perfect gem! I paired it with a pretty floral creme skater skirt, and a basic black top. This Tory Burch Necklace is so tres chic, and I love long pendants- they can "balance out" wearing different pieces being layered. The outfit is quite casual, and can be dressed up or down. The layering of bracelets is a nice touch, and you can replace the heels with anything, depending on the vibe you want to give out or where you'll be going. The structure of Micheal Kors' Selma bag is perfect, and the colors balance the outfit out well.

One thing I always try not to do is over-power one color, and layer the accordingly. The cranberry sweater works as a good color barrier between the creme skirt and the black top, which also happens to to the same color of the bag. See what I did there? :)

Overall, I really love this look; the sweater looks super comfortable, and the colors are PERFECT for fall and winter! Being comfortable is so important when it's cold out, and this outfit is simply an adorable way to do it!

What do you think of this outfit- doesn't it make you want to just curl up with a good book?

Fashion Week Review In the Raw: Rebecca Minkoff

It's every fashionista's favorite time of the year: Fashion Week! Everyone is basking in all it's glory, from the spectators on the level of the runway, to the models being thrusted on stage, to the designers anxiously awaiting the crowds response. While I wish I was there to report all the trends and such in person, I do happen to have the second best source: the internet.

I thought i'd do a review of one my favorite designers collections', Rebecca Minkoff.

After watching the show through (Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and it's called "REBECCA MINKOFF:Runway Video, Spring 2014 ), I have a pretty good idea of what to look forward to. Most of the pieces in her collection have either a black or white base, and have a nautical Mexican vibe to them, entailing the bright floral traces. These looks are very chic, and perfect for many. Anyone up to sailing, or maybe kite flying?

Without being too over-bearing, here are some looks/pieces i loved:

Speaking of Rebecca Minkoff, one of my personal favorite YouTube beauty vloggers, Ingrid Nilsen (or MissGlamorazzi) was a hair model for TRESemme- I always thought she had such lovely locks!

Did I mention she met Rebecca Minkoff? What a lucky gal!

 Exciting!

What do you guys think of the Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2013 line?
Is it hot, or not? I want to hear you opinions!

Until next time,
Layla

Your Time Will Come, If You Wait For It

Your Time Will Come, If You Wait For It

The time has come where we must bid goodbye to the warm summer, and welcome the cool breeze of fall. As much as I will miss summer (and all of it's sunny memories), I look forward to the coming season.  One of the main reasons, is because with fall comes so many more accessorizing options! Now we all can add our lovely scarves, fun hats, and bring back those seductive leather gloves back into the daily mix of our outfits.

I don't know about you, but I like to ease into each season slowly, and this adorable sweater from Chicnova is the perfect transition, because of the summery color (although let's be honest, it's fun to wear bright colors all season, when worn correctly or course), and medium dark wash jeans are a necessity in any wardrobe. These cute Steve Madden combat boots are the perfect pair (although if you want to opt for a cheaper pair, I got mine at Target for around $40.00) for this outfit. I love the beige scarf, and since we have that we can keep the jewelry to a minimal, so I just added pearl earrings and a coral bracelet. Another cute staple accessory I added was this watch by Betsey Johnson (and I suggest to look at the rest of her collection for more gorgeous watches) which is a must have if you're a student in school, a working fashionista, or quite frankly, anything you might need to keep track of  time for- you don't want to be late for that very important *ahem* HOT date! ;) The Celine Trapeze Bag is definitely a splurge, but I just love the structure of it! If you can budget it, I say go for it- Celine bags are just gorgeous and I cannot wait for the day in the distant future when I can finally walk out of the Beverly Hills store, bag in hand with one of these beauties! A girl can dream, right? :)

I hope you've all enjoyed this post, and now I'm off to devour myself in the September issue of Vogue, and also dream about designer purses :) I hope you all have a lovely night (or morning, or whenever you're reading this)!
